Jared Alvey - Executive Chef


Jared Alvey was born in Stettler, Alberta. His parents relocated to Calgary when Jared was a young child and this is where his passion for food developed. His early culinary endeavors began as he stood on a stool at the stove helping his parents prepare dinner and collaborated with his grandmother to prepare feasts for his family. At the age of 14, Jared finally entered his first commercial kitchen at an Earls franchise in Calgary. While at Earls, Jared progressed through various culinary positions, including Sous Chef, before moving to Hyde Park, New York to study at The Culinary Institute of America. In 2005, he graduated with honors and a Gastronome Award of Excellence from Chaine des Rotisseurs. He specializes in French technique and has an extensive knowledge of wine-pairing.

Throughout his training, Jared has worked at various fine-dining restaurants, including Truffles (CAA 5-diamond), of the Four Seasons Hotels &Resorts in Toronto, and Country (Michelin-starred) in New York City. Since moving back to Calgary, Jared’s credentials include Sous Chef at Belvedere and Executive Chef at Neteller Corporation. Jared is eager to continue his career as Executive Chef at Petite. His menu will feature modern European cuisine with an emphasis on fresh and seasonal items. He is ready to impress and can’t wait to see you there!
